It seems strange that Americans are able—have been able, and still are able—to support Trump at any level. The fact that he is still the president of the United States feels like a total anomaly. History may never fully understand what went wrong in America to allow such a large percentage of the population to support him. As a human being, he is profoundly distasteful: ignorant, has no respect nor regard for the law, disrespectful toward people and professionals alike, and lacking basic etiquette. He shows no real respect for anyone, including the democracy he is meant to serve.
He was known for putting this hand on the crotch of any female he could reach to push against a wall. He never fully paid his bills and never fully paid anyone who served him. He is disrespectful of the press and of anybody who disagrees with him. And God knows, there is little enough to agree with him on.
It is still astounding and will always be surprising that there are so many people in the United States who are willing to not only support a “Trumpocracy”, but who were also willing to support Trump and commit TREASON against the United States on January 6, 2021. Why is this happening in America? What is dividing America this way? Even if you look at the differences between the rich and the poor, why not address the problem of the disparity between these economic classes? Why not address the question of why the “corporate head” is making such disproportionate amounts compared to the “workers,” who actually produce the goods? Why not explore the reason — if there is any rather — for anybody who works full time not to be able to afford a home or be able to put food on the table? Why should we, as a nation, not have universal healthcare? If Obamacare did not work, then prove it.
Why are we failing to support the American people and economy, while new policies continue to erode fundamental rights—such as free speech, healthcare, education, and economic opportunity—everything that has historically made America great.
