Trump wants to import beef into the United States because he mistakenly thinks it will give “space for our Great American Beef Herd to grow again.”

Destroy the American cattle industry. That must be his new mantra.
Otherwise, why would he import 300,000 metric tons of product for ground beef?
He has also wholly mistaken the root of the problem.
The primary reason America’s cattle herd is at a 75-year-low is drought, combined with the high cost of inputs like diesel, fertilizer and equipment, which are now more expensive thanks to Trump’s Iran war and his tariffs.
