This list was created by Laurence W. Britt who wrote about the common signs of fascism in April, 2003, after researching seven fascist regimes: Hitler’s Nazi Germany; Mussolini’s Italy; Franco’s Spain; Salazar’s Portugal; Papadopoulos’ Greece; Pinochet’s Chile; Suharto’s Indonesia. A poster version of this was even sold in the United States National Holocaust Museum.

I had heard many of these warning signs pointed out during 2017, as Mr. Trump’s true colors became more obvious than they had been during the run up to the election. What is horrifying, is that he now exhibits signs of every single point listed. He has managed to divide the country as well, and divided, we cannot stand. I hope that in the end, we can and do, stand against fascism and heal as a country.
Rita…This is a shocking and timely reminder that we are watching history repeat itself. I hope everyone who reads this will share on Facebook and Twitter. We’ve got to alert the 30% of the voting population that voted for Trump that he is not a populist making “America Great Again”. He’s a puppet of Vladimir Putin, blackmailed into submission on sanctions and creating chaos in the normal functioning of our government. As Putin’s “useful idiot”, he’s reducing us to a laughing stock on the world stage. This will not end well.
